Little Miss Zapp

Chestnut Mare

In-foal to Goldencents

Booked to Vekoma in 2021

Sire: Ghostzapper

Dam: Little Miss Protocol by El Corredor

Foaled 2016

Little Miss Zapp is the first foal out of CGF star Little Ms Protocol. She was unraced due to a minor injury.

Little Miss Zapp is a half-sister to the exciting colt The Great One, who was recently 2nd in the G2 Los Alamitos Futurity and is on the Kentucky Derby trail!

She is by the leading broodmare sire Ghostzapper (a daughter of his produced Triple Crown winner Justify). She is currently carrying her first foal by top 15 general sire Goldencents (by Into Mischief).

Vekoma was one of the fastest horses in the country in 2020 and will likely be voted champion sprinter at the year-end awards. He won the prestigious and important sire-making race the Met Mile (G1) at Belmont Park and also won the Carter H. (G1). As a 3-year-old, he won the Blue Grass S. (G2), an important Kentucky Derby (G1) prep. Interestingly, he is also a Grade 1 winner, by a Grade 1 winner (Candy Ride) out of a Grade 1 winner (Mona de Momma).

This mating will create some very interesting linebreeding in the resulting foal – Mona de Momma (dam of Vekoma) is by a son of Gone West (Speightstown) out of a daughter of the great mare Long Legend. Little Ms Protocol (dam of Little Miss Zapp), is a granddaughter of Mr Greeley, who is by Gone West out of Long Legend.

Ms. Character

Bay Mare

In-foal to Sharp Azteca

booked to City of Light

Sire: Ghostzapper

Dam: Character Builder by Coronado’s Quest

Ms. Character is a homebred half-sister to Little Ms Protocol, who recently produced the G2 placed The Great One!  She is by the leading broodmare sire Ghostzapper, who is the damsire of Triple Crown winner Justify. She was unraced but has thrown 2 beautiful foals to begin her broodmare career.

Her first foal, a colt by Klimt ($10k stud fee), topped the 2020 Texas Yearling Sale, selling for $120,000! Her 2nd foal is an attractive filly by top Louisiana sire Star Guitar. She is currently in-foal to the G1 winning Sharp Azteca.

City of Light is one of the most exciting young stallions in the business. A multiple G1 winning son of the elite sire Quality Road, City of Light’s first weanlings were very well received at the recent November sales, averaging over $150k. He has been fully booked his first 3 years at stud and that trend will continue. City of Light is by the same sire as Klimt, the sire of Ms Character’s $120k sale topping yearling colt this year.

Mum

Color: Grey/Roan Mare

Booked to Practical Joke in 2021

Sire: Tapit

Dam: Don'ttellmichelle by Regal Classic

Date Foaled: 2011

Mum has an excellent pedigree: she is by champion sire Tapit and a full sister to G3 winner and G1 producer Hightap. Still only 9 years old, Mum still has plenty of years of promising production ahead. Her first foal was a winner and her 3rd foal is a 2 year-old colt by Hard Spun named Henning that is training well for the Delhommes and will race in Louisiana. She also has a nice weanling colt by the exciting young sire Mendelssohn (by Scat Daddy and a ½ brother to Into Mischief).

Henning (Hard Spun x Mum) made his debut on January 21, 2021 at The Fair Grounds for the Delhommes’, Set Hut, LLC. From last to first! What a heart and the combination of the breeder, owner and trainer is what creates the win

Mum is currently not in-foal and will be bred early in 2021.

Practical Joke is a very exciting young son of Into Mischief. He was a multiple G1 winner and his first crop of 2-year-olds race in 2021, so there is a lot to look forward to next year. The sky’s the limit for him as a sire.

Plus One

PLUS ONE

Year foaled: 2009

Sire: Bluegrass Cat

Dam: License Free

Damsire: Miswaki

Mare Notes: Purchased for $67,000 (in-foal to Violence) at Keeneland Nov ‘14

Plus One has already achieved the most difficult thing for a broodmare to do, producing the Grade 1 winner No Parole (the first Grade 1 winner bred by Coteau Grove Farms!) Less than 1% of horses are G1 winners, so she is in rarified company. No Parole was named Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association 2020 Horse of the Year.

After breaking his maiden in his only start as a juvenile in 2019, No Parole (Violence-Plus One) won a Fair Grounds Allowance race by 13 1/4 lengths in his first start at 3, followed by a 6 1/2 length victory in the Louisiana Premier Night Prince at Delta Downs. In June, he won the G1 Woody Stephens Stakes at Belmont defeating Echo Town in the process. He had four wins from seven 2020 starts. His year end earnings of $270,866 were the highest of any Louisiana Bred runner last year.

Plus One is bred back to multiple champion sire Tapit. She has a 2021 colt by Curlin.

Tapit has produced a number of high-class stakes winners out of Storm Cat line mares, including G1 winners Careless Jewel, Chasing Yesterday, Hansen, Sweet Loretta, Tell a Kelly etc. Overall he has sired 27 Grade 1 winners and the earners of over $163 million on the racetrack

Coteau Grove bred her current 2-year-old of 2021, a Mastery filly named Maestria, who we sold for $80,000 at Keeneland September 2020.

Rosa Salvaje is currently in-foal to the promising young stallion Klimt, whose first foals race in 2021.

Gift Box is a G1 winner by Twirling Candy (by Candy Ride) and matches up well physically with Rosa Salvaje, as he was primarily a two-turn distance horse and she was a sprinter. We were encouraged
