Wathnan Racing’s Louisiana-bred Tumbarumba wore down heavy favorite Most Wanted to capture Saturday’s $400,000 Ack Ack (G3) at Churchill Downs.

Breaking from post 5, Tumbarumba sat off pacesetter Most Wanted, who carved out quick fractions of :22.68 and :45.26 for the opening half-mile. The pair separated themselves from the pack, with Three Technique racing inside of Indispensable in third and fourth. Will Take It and Who Dey traveled in tandem in fifth and sixth, while longshot Surly Furious was well back in seventh.

Turning for home, Tumbarumba applied pressure to Most Wanted and seized command at the sixteenth pole. Indispensable closed into the strong early pace to grab third, while Who Dey advanced into fourth. Most Wanted fought back gamely but came up short as Tumbarumba prevailed by three-quarters of a length.

Most Wanted held second 1½ lengths clear of Indispensable in third, with Who Dey completing the superfecta. Three Technique and Will Take It settled for fifth and sixth respectively, while Surly Furious completed the order of finish.
